Math in Art (Shapes Canvas Painting)

Day #169 of 365 Days of Art (This piece is for sale, please leave a comment if you are interested in purchasing this piece.)

This painting was made by a local artist.  The black and white circles are actually a piece of fabric that was stapled on the canvas. The shapes were painted on top of the circle backdrop. Likely with acrylic and maybe some Gesso primer was added for texture and adhesive.

The above painting reminded me of two things:

First, it whispered of trigonometry, which is my favorite math.
Check out this quote:
"Can you imagine young people nowadays making a study of trigonometry for the fun of it? Well I did."   ~Clyde Tombaugh

Second, the painting would maybe go nicely in a baby's room because the colors and shapes offer a nice alternative to the "black, white, and red" infant stimulation cards.

That is all for today.
Oh, and this week is the start of Week 25 for the 365 Days of art.
We are almost halfway through.
How exciting.
