Early Eskimo Originals - McDaniel Art for Day #156 of 365 Days of Art The caribou feeds the wolf, but it is the wolf who keeps the caribou strong. Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. Don't let the windows of your home be so small that the light of the sun cannot enter your rooms. May you have warmth in your igloo, oil in your lamp, and peace in your heart. Summer is the season of inferior sledding. Unless you're the lead sled dog, the view is pretty much the same. Glorious it is when wandering time is come. May your charity increase as much as your wealth. You never really know your friends from your enemies until the ice breaks. Those who know how to play can easily leap over the adversaries of life. And one who knows how to sing and laugh never brews mischief. ~~~...

Blue sky and potted flowers

For Day 113 of the 365 Days of Art I love the two art baskets in the above photo. With all that busy vibe in the street and with the strong buildings - and then the blue sky - the two baskets have an interesting stabilizing effect - and of course the flowers are beautiful. But my real takeaway from the above watercolor is that sky! And as Vincent van Gogh noted, "I never get tired of the blue sky." Thought for the day: Let's make sure we enjoy the everyday beauty all around - and let's stir up appreciation for simple things found in nature - like potted flowers that add softness to a city street - and a wonderful blue sky!

Destiny of Souls by Jeffrey Rose (piano music)

Back in 1997, I worked with this guy named Jeff. He was a great pianist. His artist handle was Jeffrey Rose and he signed a copy of his CD, Destiny of Souls, for C and I. Jeff's music brings back memories. The place that we worked at together kept the Destiny of Souls CD in the multi-disk player (it was the 1990's and so a multi-disc player was new tech). I can still feel the energy of the very first song, Harmony of Life, as it came streaming on overhead in the old historic building we worked in. Hearing that song now brings me back to those days. I don't long for those days, but as I look back, I feel the essence and the energy of those times - in a way that music - or aroma - can carry us back. As I look back, I hope I told Jeff how much I liked his music. I hope I supported his endeavors enough and I hope we went to his CD release party. I think we did, but the memory is vague. Gosh, life was crazy busy those days and I hope I was mindful of peop...
